Told us on the night before he was going to be there, and he meant every word behind it. Put himself in danger to make sure our guests had a great time. Our pastor was snowed in, in South Carolina and Steven came to the rescue. He ended up officiating the wedding, DJing and did everything we needed. Not only was he knowledgeable and great to work with leading up to the… read more day, but when life took an unexpected turn the day of the event (we had to put our dog down over video call from hours away right after our ceremony ended) he handled the sudden changes to our schedule and incredible shift in the vibe of the night with extreme professionalism. He managed to get the party going again and give us a night to remember despite the sadness. He even took some time to come over and express his condolences to us directly and even prayed with us for our pup. Absolutely above and beyond what we hired him for, and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. 100/10 – Sure to raise the HYPE. Our wedding DJ Steve Harris helped us raise the roof to high heaven and all the way to Timbuktu. We swung around, boogied… read more down, bounced, and bumped booties with all the people we love. He made our wedding a huge success. We met Steve at a vendor event hosted by our wedding venue in January 2024, roughly 10 months prior to our originally planned wedding. Hurricane Helene delayed our celebration until November 2025, and we were so stoked we were still able to work with Steve. We were sold from the moment we met him. He’s everything you could want in your wedding DJ: gregarious without being intrusive, polite and well-spoken, and clearly has a good sense of curating music to fit the vibe. We had a pre-wedding meeting to review a shared Google Doc outlining the flow of the evening, music during dinner vs party time, announcing parents and wedding party into the reception, first dances, and other announcements to guests. Steve was incredibly organized, thoughtful, and receptive throughout. He offered suggestions and feedback that positively impacted the experience for us and our guests. He also provided tech assistance to our officiant, ceremony readers, and Asheville Choral Society who performed during the procession/recessional. We can’t say enough good things about Steve and Sound Extreme. So many of our guests shared this was the best wedding they ever attended, and we believe the music as well as Steve’s attention to detail contributed to that perception.
